MUMBAI: The rupee continued to be buyoyant and rose 38 paise from Monday's close to trade at 50.83 against the dollar at 3pm. Dealers atrribute
this to upswing in stocks and the dollar's weakness against most Asian currencies.
Dealers say that the local unit may trade in a range of 50.80 to 51.20 for the session. They said the dollar demand from importers capped a sharper rise.
The dollar was weaker against some major currencies. Indian share benchmark BSE sensex rose 1.6% at 3pm, joining a rally across Asia bourses.
