THE rand remained firm but was off its best levels in early trade on Friday as the euro rally against the greenback faltered and the unit slipped from its highs.
In early trade the rand was bid at R9,1587/$ from an overnight close of R9,0660, after earlier touching a best bid of just above R9,0000.
It was bid at R12,2618/€ from a previous R12,1975 and at R13,4282 against sterling from R13,3550 before.
